All Clear was contracted by a county public health department to assist community partners to increase their preparedness for an event that results in a large number of fatalities. This project included planning efforts focused on the whole community response as well as the specific nuances necessary for operating a FAC following an event. In addition, All Clear created the Family Assistance Center Field Operations Guide which includes the FAC Toolkit with forms, checklists, guidance, and job action sheets designed to assist responders to open, operate, and demobilize an FAC. Also, a Just-in-Time Training was provided to assist responders to train FAC volunteers on the basic operation of an FAC prior to reporting for duty. As an extra service, the All Clear Team also provided the county’s coroner’s office with planning materials to assist them to increase their ability to respond to mass fatality events, which ultimately helps the whole community response to be more successful.
