Healthcare Partners Emergency Preparedness and Communications Project
All Clear Emergency Management Group has partnered with the University of Colorado Denver, Center for Integrated Disaster Health Preparedness to facilitate a project focused on coordinated emergency planning among community health organizations. The Center was recently established under the University of Colorado Denver, School of Emergency Medicine to focus on the development and implementation of projects involving integration of healthcare sectors as this relates to disaster planning and emergency preparedness within Colorado. The Healthcare Partners Emergency Preparedness and Communications Project is one of the Center’s current initiatives.
The Healthcare Partners and Emergency Preparedness Communications Project will provide the opportunity to build coordination and collaboration among community healthcare agencies within each of Colorado’s nine All-Hazard Regions and to establish how these partners can move towards an integrated planning and coordination process as it relates to disaster communications with the hospitals in their regions. Clinics, hospices, nursing homes, long term care facilities, and other community healthcare partners will be invited to participate in a series of initiatives to identify current organizational capacities and service capabilities related to emergency management, prioritization of regional needs, and gap identification. The purpose of these initiatives will be to create a dialogue between community health partners and establish universal concerns and an understanding of individual needs and priorities in order to engage the regional hospital facilities in future planning.
